Happy Sunday,
This is the penultimate “In His Own Words” before the election.
The “big news” was, of course, the slams on Dr. Anthony Fauci (“Fauci is a disaster”) and Governor Gretchen Whitmer. That a sitting United States Governor was the target of a right-wing armed attempt to kidnap her and the President of the United States does not see this as an opportunity to speak out against such extremists and, instead, attacks the Governor is further evidence of his lack of leadership and unhinged behaviors. At a rally he attacked her COVID-19 efforts and the crowd responded “lock her up.” He then responded “lock them all up.”
And how about this:
“We’re in all these different sites fighting in countries that nobody ever heard of, and it hurts us because we’re — you wear out your military.”
His military advisors are not too happy with these brash statements that are made off the cuff and without plans and strengthening our adversaries: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/10/15/us/politics/trump-troop-withdrawals.html
“We will continue our V-shaped recovery and launch a record-smashing economic boom.”
I haven’t seen this recovery, in the face of high unemployment, runaway government spending, 20 million jobs not returning, no stimulus package, and economic inactivity. But, well, he promises it…
But here’s the best of all…Our President, always watchful to tell the truth, cross-check references and confirm the veracity of information before he disseminates it to the American public retweeted this, from a satire site, maintaining it was fact:
Twitter Shuts Down Entire Network To Slow Spread Of Negative Biden News…via TheBabylonBee. Wow, this has never been done in history. This includes his really bad interview last night. Why is Twitter doing this. Bringing more attention to Sleepy Joe & Big T [emphasis added to show Mr. Trump’s commentary on the satirical headline]
Let’s hope this type of drivel is in the rear-view mirror after January 20th.
Have a great Sunday,
Glenn
