Musings from the Bunker 1/10/21

Good morning!

I feel like a politician. No sooner did I announce last week that I wasn’t going to let the Dear Leader inside my head than I backtrack. If we learned anything this past week about the President’s words, it’s that they have meaning and they have consequences. As of this writing, the President of the United States is prohibited from posting on Twitter and Facebook because his lies and his calls for violence culminated this week in an attack on the United States Congress.

As Mr. Trump, in his efforts to “Make America Great Again” thrives on superlative, here’s another of his accomplishments. The last time the Capitol building was invaded was in 1813, 207 years ago. The last time it was occupied by British troops in wartime; this time by violent anarchists invited in by the President.

It feels like there is nothing more to say after this week, yet here’s a reminder of some of his recent words:

“JANUARY SIXTH, SEE YOU IN DC! It’s going to be wild!”

“Watching FoxNews is almost as bad as watching Fake News CNN. New alternatives are developing!”

“BrianKempGA, his puppet Lt. Governor GeoffDuncanGA, and Secretary of State, are disasters for Georgia. Won’t let professionals get anywhere near Fulton County for signature verifications, or anything else. They are virtually controlled by StaceyAbrams & the Democrats. Fools!”

“These lawyers are true patriots who are fighting for truth…AG should be sanctioned. Fight on!

IS NOTHING SACRED? NOW THE CRAZY INCITER OF UNREST, DISTRUST IN AMERICAN INSTITUTIONS AND INCITER OF VIOLENCE IS USING THE USC MOTTO!!!!!

In the meantime, as Twitter and Facebook drive the crazies to sites like Parler, even it has its limits. It has deleted Trump-supporting lawyer Lin Wood’s statement to “get the firing squads ready—Mike Pence goes first!” Other messages encouraging the hanging of the Vice President of the United States also have been deleted.

Our President’s penultimate tweet, before being banned from Twitter forever and after the violent attack on the Capitol, shows his level of remorse for his actions:

“The 75,000,000 great American Patriots who voted for me, AMERICA FIRST, and MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN, will have a GIANT VOICE long into the future. They will not be disrespected or treated unfairly in any way, shape or form!!!”

Then this from Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson:

“Can’t a random state AG from the Midwest sleep in on a Sunday morning without waking up to find that the president of the United States has mean-tweeted about you overnight (again)? The answer is “yes” come January 20th.”

Amen.

Have a great Sunday! Only 10 days to go…

Glenn
